For every medical college hospital, postgraduates and CRRIs are the backbone and lifeline, and without them, the whole healthcare will collapse.
Twitter storm again by doctors of Tamilnadu for stipend hike.
They also work 365 days 24 * 7 without getting any leave, stressing themselves out.
But the healthcare system exploits them by providing minimum wages and poor accommodation and food.
The reason behind their protest on Twitter
TNPG’s receive 37k-40k scholarships, which is very low compared to central companies like AIIMS and JIPMER, where they earn up to Rs 1 lakh per month, while MAMC earns up to Rs 96,000 per month.
The stipend in Tamilnadu is very low compared to other states like Rajasthan and Karnataka.
Low stipend compared to other states.
Despite the constant physical and mental stress, the CRRI, who earns the minimum wage of 20k compared to other states, is in a similar situation.
The Resident doctors association has decided with the Tamil Nadu Medical Students’ Council to fight this injustice and has already met the Honorable Chief Minister three times in Coimbatore, Trichy, and Madurai Medical Colleges to represent our issues.
They also met the Minister of Health once and the Secretary of Health twice.
Protest on Twitter from 7 pm.
Now they are planning to protest on Twitter again.
Until 2012 batch stipend of CRRI’s used to be 13,100 only. Only after Pg’s and CRRi’s of 2013 batch protested and held a strike the stipend increased up to 20k.
So they are going to start a “Twitter protest” and crashing Twitter from tonight by their tweets.
